ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Suspected Taliban militants destroyed 15 trucks in a NATO supply convoy in northwestern Pakistan's restive tribal region early Monday, a Peshawar police official said.
Gasoline bombs and rocket fire rained down on Al Faisal Terminal, where the convoy packed with supplies bound for U.S. forces in Afghanistan was being assembled, according to police.
The route, which is used to move supplies from Peshawar through the Khyber pass and into Afghanistan, has increasingly come under attack as militants have gained greater autonomy in Pakistan's nearby North West Frontier Province.
