KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Four soldiers with the NATO-led force in Afghanistan were killed by an improvised explosive device Sunday, according to a military statement.
Two members of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) died at the scene of the blast in eastern Afghanistan, and two died later of their wounds, the ISAF said in a statement.
"These dedicated professionals have risked their lives for a safe and stable Afghanistan," said Brig. Gen. Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesman, in the statement.
The nationalities of those killed was not released by ISAF.
