(CNN) -- The last non-Colombian hostage known to have been held by leftist rebels in Colombia was freed Tuesday.
"The only Swede kidnapped in the world has been liberated," Sweden's ambassador, Lena Norbstrom, told Caracol Television.
It broadcast video of Erik Roland Larsson, 69, who was abducted May 17, 2007, from his house in northern Colombia, where he was living after retiring from work as an engineer. The video showed Larsson, who Colombian authorities said was abducted by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, better known as FARC, after his release.
