(CNN) -- VfL Stuttgart coach Markus Babbel is under increased pressure after the Bundesliga team were knocked out of the German Cup by second-flight Greuther Furth on Tuesday.

Results have been poor for Babbel's men in both the league, hanging just above the relegation zone and Champions League, with the DFB-Pokal considered their last chance of silverware.

But a goal from Bernd Nehrig after half an hour saw Stuttgart crash out in the third round.

It was not the only shock of the night with Borussia Dortmund going down 3-2 to third division opponents Osnabruck.

A double from Angelo Barletta and a Benjamin Siegert strike saw Osnabruck continue their giant-killing heroics after seeing off high-flying Hamburg in the last round.

But Cologne avoided a similar embarrassment as they knocked fourth division survivors Eintracht Trier 3-0 with goals from Milivoje Novakovic, Youssef Mohamad and Maniche.

Bundesliga Schalke, Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim are in action on Wednesday with German giants Bayern Munich going to Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the Spanish Copa del Rey, Atletico Madrid ended a dismal run with a 2-0 win over lowly Marbella 2-0, while Primera Liga challengers Sevilla beat third-division Atletico Ciudad 4-2 with two goals from Brazil ace Luis Fabiano.

In the Scottish League Cup, Rangers went through to the semifinals with a 3-1 away win at Dundee, while in the Dutch Cup Feyenoord scored a 2-0 home win over Den Bosch.
