(CNN) -- Inter Milan were held up in their Serie A title charge after being held to a 2-2 draw at lowly Chievo on Sunday.

Arch rivals AC Milan drew 1-1 at Juventus in a later top of the table clash to stay seven points adrift in second place, but with only three matches remaining of the Italian season.

Jose Mourinho's men could have sealed title if they won and Milan lost but now they can do so next weekend if either they beat Siena at home or Milan lose away to Udinese.

Inter were ahead after only three minutes as Argentina international Hernan Crespo -- playing in place of the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic -- scored after just three minutes.

Luis Figo hit the post for Inter before Chievo hit back as Michele Marcolini scored from long-range effoft.

Youngster Mario Balotelli put Inter ahead in the 65th minute, but the home side leveled again as Luciano beat Julio Cesar.

The heavyweight night match at the San Siro saw Milan on top but third-placed Juventus salvaging a point.

Milan broke through in the second as Clarence Seedorf tapped in from close range.

But Juventus were soon level as Vincenzo Iaquinta headed home.

Fiorentina cemented the fourth Champions League spot after a 2-0 win away over Catania and are challenging Juventus with fine late season form.

Goals in either half from Stevan Jovetic and Luciano Zauri left Fiorentina three points clear of Genoa, who could only draw 1-1 with Atalanta.
