(CNN) -- Germany coach Joachim Loew has recalled Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski to his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein in Leipzig on March 28 and Wales in Cardiff on April 1.
Podolski is back in the Germany squad after scoring three goals in three games for Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old Podolski is back in favor with his country after scoring three goals in as many games while deputizing for injured Bayern strikers Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose.
Hertha Berlin defender Arne Friedrich and Bayern Munich's Marcell Jansen have also been recalled, while Hanover goalkeeper Robert Enke is back in the squad after breaking his thumb last autumn.
Wolfsburg's Marcel Schaefer and Hoffenheim's Andreas Beck also retain their places as Germany look to consolidate their lead at the top of European qualifying Group Four.
