LONDON, England (CNN) -- Formula One has welcomed back its most decorated son with the return of Michael Schumacher.

The German, who will now link up with compatriot Nico Rosberg for car-maker Mercedes' new team, brings an awesome track record back to the grid.

The career of the seven-time world champion -- Juan Manuel Fangio is Schumacher's closest rival with five titles -- includes a list of other records including most race wins (91), most pole positions (68) and the greatest number of fastest laps (76).
