(CNN) -- Top seed Elena Dementieva stayed on course to claim the Family Circle Cup in Charleston as her Slovakian opponent Dominika Cibulkova was forced to pull out of their quarterfinal match through injury.

Russian Dementieva was 6-4 1-0 ahead when the seventh seeded Cibulkova quit with a left leg injury.

The world number three will next face Danish teenager Caroline Wozniacki, the fifth seed, who thrashed France's Virginie Razzano, the 13th seed, 6-2 6-0.

"She came with the tape on her leg and I didn't know if it was bad or not, so I just feel sorry she couldn't finish the match," Dementieva told the official WTA Tour Web site

Wozniacki, coming off a tournament win on clay in Florida last week, is looking forward to her semifinal clash.

"I need to stay aggressive. My legs have to be there, too. I need to keep running because she's a great player, a great fighter."

Saturday's other semi-final matches German 16th seed Sabine Lisicki against France's Marion Bartoli, the former Wimbledon runner-up.

Lisicki, who shocked Venus Williams in the last 16, continued her fine run with a 6-4 6-0 victory over Elena Vesnina of Russia.

Bartoli beat Melinda Czink of Hungary 6-4 6-1.

Defending champion Serena Williams, who will lose her world number one ranking to Dinara Safina in the new WTA list on Monday, is sitting out the tournament through injury.
