(CNN) -- Lindsey Vonn has set a new American record of 19 World Cup victories after her success in Sunday's super-G at Tarvisio, Italy on Sunday.

Vonn is now the most successful American World Cup skier in history after her 19th victory on Sunday.

The double world champion is now the most successful American woman in World Cup alpine history, beating the previous mark of 18 wins set by Tamara McKinney in the 1980s.

Vonn, who won both the downhill and super-G at the world championships in Val d'Isere, clocked a time of one minute 21.72 seconds to beat Swiss Fabienne Suter, with Slovenia's Tina Maze back in third place.

Her sixth success of the season consolidated the 24-year-old's position at the head of the overall World Cup standings with a lead of almost 300 points over Germany's Maria Riesch.

Vonn also climbs up to third place in the super-G standings with 261 points, behind Suter (296) and Italian leader Nadia Fanchini (300), who finished fifth on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Romed Baumann of Austria won the final men's World Cup super-combined race of the season in Sestriere, while Swiss Carlo Janka collected the discipline's overall title.

Baumann, who led after the opening super-G leg, finished in a combined time of two minutes, 25.73 seconds for his first career victory.

Julien Lizeroux of France was second, 0.32 behind, while Janka and Christof Innerhofer of Italy shared third place, 0.68 back.

Defending overall champion Bode Miller won the super-combined title last year, but missed Sestriere for a midseason break after failing to win a medal at the world championships.

Ivica Kostelic of Croatia finished seventh on Sunday to stay top of the overall standings with 802 points.
