(CNN) -- Top seed Andy Roddick is through to the semifinals of the Memphis Open after a battling three-set victory over fellow-American Sam Querry on Friday.
Andy Roddick was taken to three sets before reaching the last four of the Memphis Open.
Roddick hit 11 aces on his way to a 6-4 3-6 6-3 victory and will now face a rejuventated Lleyton Hewitt for a place in Sunday's final.
Australian former world number one Hewitt secured his place in the last four with a comfortable 6-2 6-3 success over Belgian Christope Rochus.
There was a suprise in the other half of the draw when in-form Czech Radek Stepanek, the fifth seed, claimed a straight sets win over second-seeded Argentine Juan Martin del Potro.
Stepanek, who is already seeking his third title of the season, will now face Israeli qualifier Dudi Sela after a 7-6 6-4 win.
Meanwhile, as expected, the women's final will be between top-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki and second-seeded Belarussian Victoria Azarenka.
Wozniacki crushed Briton Anne Keothavong 6-1 6-0 in just 55 minutes while Azarenka outlasted Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-4 3-6 7-6.
