(People.com) -- It might not be planned for Las Vegas, but talk about a quickie wedding!

A source said Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have had a whirlwind romance but feel sure about marriage.

A source said Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have had a whirlwind romance but feel sure about marriage.

Reality star Khloe Kardashian and her basketball player fiance Lamar Odom will marry this Sunday in Los Angeles, one month to the day after the pair met at a party the bride hosted for Odom's L.A. Lakers teammate Ron Artest.

So why the big rush?

Following in the footsteps of another reality TV personality who appears on the same cable network -- Kendra Wilkinson of E!'s "Kendra," whose televised wedding to NFL player Hank Baskett earned her show's highest-ever ratings -- Kardashian, 25, will film her ceremony for a future episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"It creates a lot of buzz that the wedding is being planned and happening within such a short period of time," said one source. "It's going to make for huge ratings, and Khloe and Lamar are sure about everything, so they all figured, 'Why not?!' "

"It may seem like it's a quickie wedding to everyone else but Khloe knows what she wants," added the source. "She and Lamar started talking about getting married really soon after they met. They knew this was it, and they're just having fun with this whirlwind."

Added another source close to the situation, "It's happening so quickly because of the show. They want to create some drama for the cameras. Meetings and decisions are being delayed to the last minute."

On Wednesday, an E! production crew began work at the L.A. home of family friend and music producer Irving Azoff, where the wedding will be held.

"They have to plan out how they can film at the house and at the same time keep guests safe. They don't want any wedding guest tripping, or getting injured."
