New York (CNN) -- It's no blue Christmas for Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli this year.

Bocelli has just wrapped a U.S. tour in support of his first holiday album, "My Christmas," which has already sold more than one million copies since its release last month. It's holding onto the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 for a third week, behind another powerful vocalist -- Susan Boyle.

The Italian tenor's album features traditional holiday songs and some unexpected duets with guests like Mary J. Blige ("What Child Is This"), Reba MacIntyre ("Blue Christmas"), Natalie Cole ("The Christmas Song"), and the Muppets ("Jingle Bells").

"It's always beautiful to sing with other great voices," says Bocelli. "I like voices in general. It's a big privilege to have great singers next to me."

Bocelli, who is as comfortable singing arias as he is pop ballads, has sold more than 60 million albums worldwide (yes, that's more than the great Luciano Pavarotti). He sings in both English and Italian on "My Christmas."

The album was produced by veteran David Foster, who doesn't hold back when it comes to praising Bocelli.

"To me he's the greatest singer on the planet," says Foster, known also for his work with Josh Groban and Celine Dion. "He lights me up more than any other artist I've ever worked with."

As an accompaniment to the album, Bocelli and a piano-side Foster appear in a glossy PBS special -- complete with sleigh and snow -- which came out on DVD last week.

So what does a super-successful musician like Bocelli want for Christmas?

Niente!

"I never think about gifts," he says. "It's enough to have my family present."
