The story

A two-year-old child became the first person to die of swine flu outside of Mexico Wednesday, as numbers of suspected and confirmed cases continued to rise around the globe.

The toddler, who died Monday at a hospital in Houston, Texas, was visiting the United States from Mexico.

Meanwhile, an official at the World Health Organization said Wednesday evening that his agency had confirmed 114 cases of swine flu worldwide. Read full article »
