WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The suspect in last month's Holocaust Museum shooting has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Washington, charging him with the murder of a museum police officer and related crimes, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.
Four of the seven counts James von Brunn faces could make him eligible for the death penalty.
In the seven-count indictment, James Von Brunn, 89, of Annapolis, Maryland, is accused of killing officer Tyrone Johns in the June 10 attack.
Four of the seven counts could make him eligible for the death penalty.
Von Brunn was also charged with gun violations and hate crimes.
Von Brunn, who was shot by return fire from officers at the museum, has been hospitalized since the incident.
A hearing in his case is tentatively scheduled for Thursday afternoon in federal court. The hearing has been postponed several times because of Von Brunn's medical condition.
