MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- A man shot and killed four people before turning the gun on himself in Miami, Florida, early Sunday morning, police said.

Miami police are still investigating but say early findings are "consistent with a murder-suicide."

Police tape cordons off a home in Miami, Florida, after police responded early Sunday to reports of shots fired.

Police responding to reports of gunshots shortly after midnight found four bodies behind a house.

Witnesses told officers they saw a pickup truck leave the area.

Soon afterward, 911 dispatchers received a call about a vehicle and a house in flames, followed by the sounds of gunshots, police said.

At the scene, police found a man dead of a gunshot wound.

The four bodies found behind the house have been identified as the gunman's estranged wife, the wife's daughter, the daughter's boyfriend, and the boyfriend's grandmother, according to CNN affiliate WPLG in Miami.

"Based on the evidence, detectives have determined the findings at both locations to be consistent with a murder-suicide and possibly domestic related," a statement released by police said.
