(CNN) -- A 6.5-magnitude earthquake shook western China's Qinghai province Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The epicenter of the quake struck at about 9:22 a.m. at the northern part of the province, located on the northeastern part of the Tibetan Plateau.
There were not immediate reports of casualties or injuries.
