ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A suspected missile strike killed at least 20 people Friday in the Pakistani village of Lund Mohammad Khel, a military source said.
Local television reports put the death toll at 21.
Pakistan's army, however, would not confirm the missile strike. A spokesman said only that an explosion was heard, but the cause of the incident was not known and was under investigation.
The village is near the Afghan border, about 12 miles (20 km) west of Miran Shah in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region.
Residents there said the missile struck a house where a man was hosting "foreigners" for dinner.
CNN's Rezah Sayah and journalist Hameedullah Khan contributed to this report.
