(CNN) -- Two soldiers with the International Security Assistance Force died Friday after an attack in eastern Afghanistan, the ISAF said.
The military said they were wounded by an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. The ISAF did not release their nationalities.
"These soldiers died while helping to bring security and peace to the people of Afghanistan," ISAF spokesman Brig. Gen. Richard Blanchette said in a written statement.
On Thursday, three coalition service members were killed in a blast in southern Afghanistan, the U.S.-led coalition said.
The troops were on a foot patrol when the incident occurred.
More than 3,200 people have died in violence across Afghanistan so far this year, according to an Associated Press tally of figures provided by Afghan and Western officials.
