NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- At least 20 people were killed and five others injured when a fire broke out on a train in southern India early Friday, railway officials said.
The fire began in a sleeper car of the Gautami Express around 1:15 a.m. in Kesamudram, in Andhra Pradesh state, according to the Indian Railway Department.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and was being investigated.
Kesamudram is about 100 miles south of the state capital, Hyderabad.
