NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- One person was killed and several others were injured on Friday in a string of bomb blasts in the southern Indian city of Bangalore, police said.
Police Commissioner Shankar Bidri confirmed the explosions, which occurred in the afternoon, and said it is not yet known who conducted the acts and why the bombings were set off.
Bangalore is home to many of India's technology companies and call centers.
