ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A suicide bomber who slipped into a political rally and detonated an explosive killed eight people in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal area near the Afghan border Monday, Pakistan's state news agency said.
The attack on the Awami National Party rally was the third targeting the opposition party in less than a week.
On Saturday, a suicide bomber killed more than a dozen people and injured at least a score more at an ANP rally in northwestern Pakistan.
And last Wednesday, the vice-president of the party was killed as he drove through the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.
ANP, a leftist nationalist Pashtun party mostly centered in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Baluchistan and the tribal areas, currently has no seats in parliament.
Monday's attack occurred in the village of Eidak near the border town of Miran Shah, the Associated Press of Pakistan said. In addition to the deaths, it wounded 11 people.
