Snowstorms whipped through the Northeast on Friday, causing significant travel delays at airports in the New York area and elsewhere.
The National Weather Service reported that 6 inches inches of snow have accumulated in parts of the New York metropolitan area.
John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York and Newark International Airport in New Jersey anticipated arrival delays of more than 2½ hours, according to the Federal Aviation Administration's Web site. Incoming flights at JFK were nearly 4½ hours late.
