(CNN) -- Harry Kewell has been named in Australia's 27-man squad for the World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan on September 10.

Kewell is enjoying himself with Galatasaray, according to Australian coach Verbeek.

Kewell is enjoying himself with Galatasaray, according to Australian coach Verbeek.

Kewell, now with Turkish club Galatasaray, is fit after a knee problem and is added to the team that drew 2-2 in a friendly against South Africa in London last week.

The Australians will have another warm-up game, against the Netherlands in Eindhoven on September 6, before they travel to Tashkent.

Also in the group are Qatar, Bahrain and Japan.

English Premier League pair Brett Emerton and Brad Jones are also in the squad named by coach Pim Verbeek, but two other key men playing in England, Tim Cahill and Mark Viduka, are unfit.

Verbeek believes that Kewell can be a key figure for the Socceroos.

"I met with Harry last weekend and had a dinner with him so I know so far he is very happy with his club," Verbeek said.

"Turkish football suits him, it's technical and they always attack and he is thrilled to be part of a new world, new faces."

The only two A-League players included are Ante Covic and Jade North.

Verbeek knows what faces his team in Uzbekistan. "I've been there, so I know what we can expect, I was there with South Korea," he said.

"It will be quite a tough game. They play a Russian style.

"Physically they are strong, but skilful and organized, but okay, our boys are used to it.

Scotland coach George Burley includes Celtic's Shaun Maloney for the Group 9 games against Macedonia on September 6 and Iceland four days later.

Maloney recently returned Parkhead club from Aston Villa.

Birmingham City striker Garry O'Connor is also in the squad.

Kalmar's Viktor Elm is a surprise selection for Sweden's matches with Albania in Tirana on September 6 and Hungary in Stockholm on September 10.

Midfielder Elm's only previous international outing was in the 2-0 defeat against the United States in a friendly match in January.

Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc and two other players have been banned from two World Cup qualifiers for their behavior after losing to Ukraine last week.

Celtic's Boruc, along with Dariusz Dudka and Radoslaw Majewski, will miss matches against Slovenia on September 6 and at San Marino four days later, Poland federation spokeswoman Marta Alf said on Wednesday.

Poland coach Leo Beenhakker said last week that the three would be suspended for "irresponsible behavior." Beenhakker gave no further details but Polish media reports said the players got drunk after the 1-0 loss to Ukraine in a friendly match.

The three later apologized.

The Georgian Football Federation have confirmed that their World Cup group eight qualifier against the Republic of Ireland will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany.

FIFA decided that the September 6 must be moved from Tbilisi and played at a neutral venue because of security concerns.

The GFF have now selected the Bundesliga ground - where their striker Alexandre Iashvili plays.
