(CNN) -- Alexander Hleb became Barcelona's fifth close-season signing on Wednesday when the midfield star completed his euro15 million ($24 million) move from Arsenal.
Latest Barcelona buy Hleb impressed as Arsenal led the Premier League last season.
The 27-year-old Belarus international traveled to the Catalan city for a routine medical before signing a four-year contract.
The 27-year-old Hleb scored 10 goals for Arsenal after joining from VfB Stuttgart in 2005.
"I spoke with (coach Pep) Guardiola and it's very important that he wants me, and I'll give my best to this team to win everything with Barcelona," Hleb told the Spanish club's Web site. "It's a dream. I love this team."
Barcelona has already signed defender Gerard Pique from Manchester United, midfielder Seydou Keita and wing back Daniel Alves from Sevilla, and center back Martin Caceres from Villarreal.
Hleb's departure from the Emirates Stadium has been widely predicted, after he admitted he was "mentally tired" with living in London and playing in the Premier League.
Hleb, who cost Arsenal $22.27 million from German Bundesliga side Stuttgart in 2005, was thought to be a target for Inter Milan, but the Italian club's interest cooled after the appointment of Jose Mourinho as coach.
He joins on the day that Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho departed the Catalan giants for AC Milan, with new coach Pepe Guardiola revamping his squad after their failure to win a trophy last season.
