(CNN) -- Andrei Arshavin, one of the stars as Russia have progressed to the semifinals of the Euro 2008 championships, is keen to join a club in Spain, rather than England or Germany, according to Spanish newspaper AS.

Arshavin has told his club in St Petersburg that he wants to move.
The 27-year-old Zenit St Petersburg player, told the paper: " I know that I have offers from England and Germany, but what I would really like is to play in the Spanish League, in the Primera Division.
"It's the championship I've always followed, I like the football they play there. But, at the moment, I don't have any offers from Spain."
Arshavin has been strongly linked to Barcelona since his performance in Russia's 3-1 defeat of Holland in Saturday's quarterfinal.
Russian Football Federation president Vitaly Butko said on Sunday that the player had his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp.
Real Madrid, Valencia and Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested.
Zenit coach Dick Advocaat has already revealed that Arshavin has told the UEFA Cup winners he wants a move abroad.
Now Arshavin has confirmed: "Maybe the moment (to move) has come, yes."
