(CNN) -- Veteran Czech striker Jan Koller has announced that he will retire from international football following the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland this summer.
Jan Koller has struggled to make an impact following his return to Germany this year.
The 35-year-old is the Czech Republic's all-time top scorer with 52 goals in 85 matches, having netted on his debut against Belgium in 1999.
The towering 2.02-meter forward, who plays for German club Nuremberg, told Prague newspaper Dnes that his mind was made up.
"It's a definitive decision, nothing can change it," he said. "I feel very close to coach Karel Bruckner. I think my time will be up after Euro 2008."
The 68-year-old Bruckner has already revealed that he will stand down following the tournament, which runs from June 7-29.
The Czechs, surprise semifinalists four years ago, will face Switzerland, Portugal and Turkey in Group A.
Koller has previously hinted that he will return to his homeland to play after 12 years abroad.
He has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga since leaving French club Monaco in January.
His first stint in Germany was much more successful, scoring 59 goals in 139 appearances for Borussia Dortmund between 2001-06 -- and winning the league title once.
Koller started his career with Sparta Prague before moving to Belgium, where he played for Lokeren and Anderlecht. E-mail to a friend
