LONDON, England (CNN) -- British singer Amy Winehouse, who was denied a visa to enter the United States to perform at Sunday's Grammy Awards, will instead perform by satellite from a London studio, and is leaving the rehabilitation clinic she entered two weeks ago to prepare for the performance, her Britain-based publicists said Friday.

"While she had hoped to join the star-studded lineup in person in Los Angeles, she is thrilled to have the chance to be a part of the show," the publicists said in a written statement.

Winehouse, who entered the clinic two weeks ago as part of her ongoing struggles with drug addiction, was invited to perform at the ceremony after being nominated for Grammys in six categories. However, her publicists said Thursday her visa application to enter the United States was rejected by the American Embassy in London, although they said Winehouse was treated "well and fairly" by the embassy staff.

"I'm raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards," the Friday statement quoted Winehouse as saying. "I'd like to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. I'm really sorry I can't be there but I appreciate that I'm being given a second chance via satellite."

Winehouse will be leaving the clinic Friday, the statement said. "She is feeling great, looking healthy and looking forward to doing what she does best. She will remain under medical supervision and her treatment will continue as normal."

Winehouse entered rehab January 24 after the leak of a home video that showed her smoking something in a glass pipe, just minutes after she is heard saying she had taken six tablets of the anti-anxiety drug Valium. The Sun, Britain's best-selling daily tabloid newspaper, made the 19-minute video public, saying it had been shot days before at Winehouse's East London home.

In a two-minute portion of the video posted on The Sun's Web site, Winehouse walks around her home in a dark tank top, talks to a friend on her cell phone, and talks to the person shooting the video. At one point, she says, "I just took about six Valium." Sitting on her bed, she then lights a glass pipe and inhales.

What was in the pipe was unknown. Scotland Yard has said it is looking into the the video after receiving it from The Sun. Video Watch the video of Winehouse and a glass pipe »

Winehouse has become famous for her battles with addiction. Her hit song "Rehab" describes her reluctance to enter a rehabilitation center. She previously entered rehab last summer.

In October, Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested at a Norwegian hotel for marijuana possession, and soon afterward fans booed her on stage as she slurred and stumbled her way through her performance.

In December, tabloids published pictures of Winehouse with a mystery white powder in her nose. She was also photographed wandering barefoot on a London street, wearing only jeans and a bra and appearing disoriented.

Fielder-Civil is currently behind bars in London on charges of perverting the course of justice in connection with a bar fight.
