(CNN) -- A gas pipeline erupted into flames in eastern Saudi Arabia early Sunday, causing "a number of deaths and injuries," according to Saudi Aramco, the state oil conglomerate.
The pipeline, about 18 miles (30 km) from the Hawiyah Gas Plant, has been isolated and the fire brought under control, the company said.
Saudi Aramco said the fire happened "where maintenance work for new tie-ins was being conducted" on the Haradh-Uthmaniyah gas pipeline. E-mail to a friend ![]()
