An Iraqi doctor appeared in court Saturday on charges linked to the failed car bomb plots in London and the Scottish city of Glasgow.

Bilal Abdulla, a 27-year-old doctor born in Britain and raised in Iraq, was charged with conspiring to cause explosions after he and another man allegedly crashed a gas-laden Jeep Cherokee outside the main terminal of Scotland's largest airport a week ago.

Abdulla spoke only to confirm his name and birth date at Westminster magistrates court. His next court appearance was set for July 27. His lawyers did not ask for bail. Read full article »
