Question of the Week: Food waste

CNN -- Millions of us in the developed world live in what many call "throw-away" societies, where the food we waste could in many cases feed entire third world nations.

The UN World Food Program says that the leftovers in the U.S. alone could feed the hungry in Africa.

While there is talk about using food for energy, others say the easiest way to deal with food waste is to just consume less. But when some of the biggest contributors to food waste levels are restaurants, supermarkets and convenience outlets, is individual action enough?
