(CNN) -- China's most popular television host, Yang Lan was instrumental in securing China's bid for the 2008 Olympics.

As the image ambassador and now host of the "Olympics Songfest," a TV program dedicated to selecting the Olympics theme song, Yang is widely viewed as the perfect campaigner for Beijing -- both within the country and abroad.
