On of the things we definitely want to be free of in virtual worlds is elitists like Stanford scholars telling us what we should be doing with freedom, and imposing notions of "strange". If that pays the bills of the expensive proposition of virtual world platforms and software, enabling smaller communities of scientists, artists, and goofballs who want to live inside neon Moebius Strip homes on the moon, that's fine.
