(CNN) -- In a virtual world, online identity is potentially much more flexible than real identity and some say it is also a truer reflection of self.
What's the relationship between digital representations in role-playing environments and identities in the real world?
The virtual world creates freedoms that don't exist in the real world. The virtual world is like a mirror that reflects not the physical appearance but the inner side of a person.

I totally agree with Nick Yee. Furthermore, I think that it is a disgrace that so much is spent on huge, lavish buildings that don't cater to the needs of everybody regardless of income.

On of the things we definitely want to be free of in virtual worlds is elitists like Stanford scholars telling us what we should be doing with freedom, and imposing notions of "strange". People want to make surfer bodies, live in McMansions, shop and cyber. That's what the masses want. Leave them alone. If that pays the bills of the expensive proposition of virtual world platforms and software, enabling smaller communities of scientists, artists, and goofballs who want to live inside neon Moebius Strip homes on the moon, that's fine. Don't knock it.
