(CNN) -- "The Essentials," the Turner Classic Movies program Carrie Fisher is joining, will not be showing "Under the Rainbow." Nor will it be showing "The Man with One Red Shoe," "The 'burbs" or "Drop Dead Fred."

And Fisher, who appeared in every one of those bombs, is thankful -- even if she thinks it wouldn't be a bad idea to create a special TCM night for awful cinema, have "a place for really bad films."

Which would include a number of Carrie Fisher films.

"I've made some unbelievably bad movies -- are you kidding?" she says. "Movies that I don't even think are out [on video] anymore."

She starts laughing at the memories.

"I did one called 'Time Guardian,' just because I wanted to go to Australia, and I did one called, um -- oh, God, I don't even know, it's an Agatha Christie movie, because I wanted to go to Israel."

The latter, she suddenly recalls, was called "Appointment with Death" (1988), and it also starred John Gielgud, Lauren Bacall, Hayley Mills, David Soul and Peter Ustinov as Christie's detective, Hercule Poirot.

The Israeli shoot wasn't much fun, she recalls.

"We all drove around in cars with a sign on them that said 'Appointment with Death' -- in Israel -- and nobody ever made a joke until we got out of the country."

She warms to the subject. "I've made films that are so bad there are cutaways to ashtrays to no reason, and you think there's going to be a meaning to the ashtray later on and there isn't," she says.

"Oh, I've made some unbelievably bad films," she repeats, then audibly shrugs. "But you know, that's what we do. That's a career."
