White Stripes tour rest of North America

NEW YORK (Billboard) -- Rock duo the White Stripes have finalized plans for their North American summer tour, which will visit a number of unconventional locations beginning June 24 in Burnaby, British Columbia.

"For the 10th anniversary of this band, we're going to play the 16 states we've never played before," frontman Jack White told Billboard.com. "And that way, we'd have played all 50 states in our 10th year. And, we're going to play every province and territory in Canada -- I don't know if it's ever been done. We're going to play all the places we haven't been, and that's really appealing to us."

U.S. dates get underway July 22 in Portland, Maine, and include a show two days later at New York's Madison Square Garden. The duo will be out in support of its upcoming album, "Icky Thump," due June 19 via Warner Bros. The title track/first single is available at iTunes now.

Before visiting North America, the White Stripes will play six shows in Europe in June and also drop by the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee.

'Survivor' producer marries 'Angel' star

MALIBU, California (AP) -- "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett and "Angel" Roma Downey have tied the knot.

The couple were married Saturday in a private ceremony at their home. The ceremony was officiated by Downey's "Touched by an Angel" co-star Della Reese, an ordained minister, the couple's publicist, Jim Dowd, confirmed Monday.

"It was wonderful to have shared our big day with our family, Roma, myself, our children and our parents," Burnett, 46, told People magazine in an interview. "It was so meaningful and so intimate."

A small plane hired by Downey, 47, towed a banner that read: "...and they lived happily ever after."

Burnett's sons from a previous marriage, James, 13, and Cameron, 10, were best man and ring bearer. Downey's daughter, Reilly, 10, from a previous marriage, was a bridesmaid.

The couple became engaged in November during a vacation to Mexico.

Downey starred in "Touched by an Angel" from 1994 to 2003.

Langella bringing Nixon role to big screen

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) - Actor Frank Langella has agreed to bring his acclaimed stage role as Richard Nixon to the screen for an upcoming film version of the play about the Nixon's famed 1977 TV interviews with David Frost.

Langella, currently portraying the disgraced former president in the Broadway production of "Frost/Nixon," was offered the movie part last week and is in negotiations to finalize the deal, his spokeswoman said on Monday.
