CNN Student News asked viewers for their thoughts on last week's panic in Boston. Was the incident a harmless stunt or a crime? Did they think anyone should be punished? Here is a sampling of the responses we've received, some of which have been edited.
Jay, Seneca, Kansas
I think it was just a harmless stunt. They were just doing their job. People are overreacting to a little light board. Nobody should be punished for it.
Squij, Seneca, Kansas
It was a crime. It was scaring peole who thought it was a bomb. They should get arrested.
Jason L.: I think the light signs of the "mooninites" would have been ok if they got permission to place them and if it said about the show underneath it.
Victoria, Seneca, Kansas
I don't think anyone should get the blame because they found out it wasn't a bomb. So what did they do wrong?
Masquequah, Seneca, Kansas
I don't think anyone should get punished. They were posting signs for a TV show.
Sharon, Seneca, Kansas
The people who paid them for doing it should go to jail and not those two guys.
Sahil B., Naperville, Illinois
I think that the incident with the electronic signs should be considered a crime. The signs caused pandemonium throughout the city of Boston, and with increased security these days because of terrorist attacks, such a shock can be very catastrophic to the morale of the citizens.
Meshinea, Seneca, Kansas
They were just doing their jobs. It wasn't a crime. No one should get punished because someone hired them to put the signs up for a TV show.
Ruby, Seneca, Kansas
I think it was a harmless stunt, no one should get arrested because they were just doing their job.
Michael, Seneca, Kansas
They should punish the guy that hired the two young men. What's the matter with the blinking lights?
