GAZA CITY (CNN) -- Four people, including three children of a senior Palestinian intelligence officer, were shot to death outside a Gaza City school Monday morning, Palestinian police said.

Three other children were wounded in the drive-by attack, police said.

The children who were killed -- ages 6 to 9 -- were the children of Baha Balousheh, an intelligence officer loyal to Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, police said. The fourth person killed was the children's driver, police said.

The children were getting out of a car in front of their school when gunmen opened fire from a passing car, police said.
