YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSLONDON, England -- Babyshambles lead singer Pete Doherty, who had an on-off relationship with supermodel Kate Moss, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs -- just days after pleading guilty to possessing heroin and cocaine. The 26-year-old rocker was stopped by police Saturday morning and arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A and a Class C drug, police said, according to Reuters and the UK's Press Association. Police said Doherty pulled over even though police were actually trying to flag down another driver, PA reported. He was arrested after his behavior "caught officers' attention," a Scotland Yard spokeswoman said. He was released on bail and ordered to appear at a north London police station on February 2 "pending analysis of substances" found, the spokeswoman said. Last Wednesday, Doherty appeared before Ealing Magistrates' Court in west London, where he admitted two charges of possessing Class A drugs that police found in his car on November 30. The court heard police stopped the former Libertines singer's Jaguar in the suburb of Ealing for breaking the speed limit. Prosecutor Bryony Darbyshire told the magistrates that officers noticed that he seemed to be under the influence of "something" with his eyes glazed and pupils dilated. They told the singer they were going to search the car and he admitted that they would find drugs, PA reported. Darbyshire told the court that officers found a total of three packets containing 0.875 grams (0.03 ounces) of heroin and one packet of cocaine weighing 0.234 grams. The maximum sentences for possession of a Class A drug is up to seven years in prison and/or an unlimited fine. The court released Doherty on bail and ordered him to reappear at Ealing Magistrates Court on February 8. Media reports say Doherty and Moss have split up.
