Kashmir attack kills two policeFrom Journalist Mukhtar Ahmad YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSSRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir (CNN) -- Suspected militants opened fired on a police station in central Srinagar early Thursday, killing two officers, police have said. "One head constable and one constable were killed when militants fired indiscriminately at the police party which was out on a morning patrol," said Farooq Ahmad, the deputy inspector general of police for the central Kashmir range. Ahmad said the ambush was staged on the Soura police station in the Vicharnag section of Srinagar. The attackers escaped with an automatic weapon from one of the officers, Ahmad said, adding no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
