Bin Laden

We asked:

"Do you think Osama bin Laden is planning another attack on the United States?"

119,021 people voted as of 8/24/06:

86% yes

14% no

Of course I think bin Laden is planning another attack on America, not to think that we were still in his sights would be burying one's head in the sand and hoping that he just went away. Now is the important question however, am I worried about bin Laden, no not really. If the police who I have great confidence in are doing their job, then we should be able to intercept these criminals prior to anything happening. If it happens, it happens, I absolutely refuse to give this man a victory of any sort by worrying about his plans and actions.
Jim Cook, White City, Kansas

Tom Cruise

We asked:

"Do you think Tom Cruise's behavior has been bad enough to warrant Paramount Pictures cutting its ties with the actor?"

5,539 people voted as of 8/24/06:

73% yes

27% no

My husband and I used to like watching Tom Cruise movies. However, once he opened his mouth about psychology, medicines, we were turned off. We refuse to see any projects that he stars in and/or produces. Keep your GLIB comments to yourself Mr. Cruise.
Luisa Heredia, Easley, South Carolina

Cruise has overstepped his bound and his remarks about other people and his conduct are in very poor taste to say the least.
William W. Hines, Colton, California

He may be risky, but he's still worth the investment.
Kokulan, Toronto

Hillary Clinton is a formidable presence in the Senate - a savvy, road-tested politician. As a loyal Democrat, I would definitely support her candidacy for president, but I am concerned that she will polarize the country at a time when we need to woo moderates back to the party.
Audrey Eisenstein, Barrington, Rhode Island

Hillary Clinton made a great first lady and has made a great U.S. Senator so far for New York. She has common sense, a realistic view of issues and genuinely cares about all Americans, not just the rich ones. I believe she understands the Constitution better than most recent presidents. She also values other cultures and is extremely effective in her interactions with the international community.
Abbie, Newark, New York

I could be more positive about her if she'd quit bashing President Bush. I liked President Clinton, regardless of his Monica stuff! And, I'm not opposed to a woman in the oval office. I think the person who deserves that honor is the person who can unite the country (best they can) and keep the country safe for today and for future generations. I think Bush is doing the best he can and definitely is dedicated. I believe Hillary could do that; but, I'd have a lot more respect for her and the Democratic Party if they'd try to unite behind the President rather than bash him on every little thing possible. That only sends negative signals to terrorists or wannabe terrorists.
Carol Thompson, McCordsville, Indiana

It is the wrong time for a woman to run for President. It's not fair but it is a fact a woman in that office will never go over in the South or Midwest for sure not now.
George McLean, Wadesboro, North Carolina

Should Hillary decide to run, I AM VOTING FOR HER!
Patricia C. Rubio, Houston, Texas

Electing Hillary would be the straw that broke the camel's back as far as the stability of the United States of America.
Jim Sharman, Purdy, Missouri

I suppose all of those still lying to themselves about the current Bush fiasco they rolled us into simply do not understand the question, i.e., Would she make a good president? She certainly could not steal anymore from us than the current corporate lackeys.
Jon Dobson, Atlanta, Georgia

I have been watching her closely and was just about ready to give her all my support - but then she voted to eliminate the Palestinians and the Lebanese - and I cannot vote for someone who votes for war. Sorry, Hillary.
Donna Mansfield, Everett, Washington

Snakes on a Plane

We asked:

"Do you plan on watching 'Snakes on a Plane?'"

89,990 people voted as of 8/24/06:

81% no
