Karr's confession is not the end of the JonBenet Ramsey case, authorities caution.

(CNN) -- The arrest in Thailand of John Mark Karr, suspected of killing JonBenet Ramsey nearly 10 years ago, has shocked the nation. We asked our readers for their thoughts on this case. Here is a selection of your responses, some of which have been edited:
Karr appears to be mentally ill from the pronouncements he has made, such as "I loved her" and "It was an accident". Right. Strangulation with a cord after a huge blow on the head was an accident to a child that he loved? I am just really glad he was caught. The fact that the Ramsey family itself was under suspicion for so long is and was outrageous. This will maybe give some closure and put this dangerous man behind bars for good, or whatever.
I think this guy is mentally ill and obsessed with JonBenet Ramsey. This confession is like bragging about his obsession to the public. He needs help. I don't think he killed her.
This is a result of an over-zealous, sympathetic District Attorney who wants to clear the Ramsey's. This suspect will never be charged because he wasn't anywhere near Boulder on the night of the murder. This will come out very soon. Karr is a nut, not a murderer.
The Proof will be in the DNA. [Karr] has studied the case extensively, so what better way to taint the jury pool, than by telling the world you did the crime and then say something that is incorrect. I never believed the Ramseys had anything to do with the murder and was angered by the assault on them.
Why would the district attorney's office in Boulder have this man arrested in Thailand unless they had some pretty compelling evidence that he was indeed the killer? Boulder police took a great deal of heat for botching this investigation 10 years ago; wouldn't they proceed very cautiously, and only make an arrest if they were pretty certain they had the right person? I'd hate to think that they made this arrest on flimsy evidence, particularly after so much time has passed.
DNA and handwriting tests should have been given before any announcements were made to the general public.
Could it be that [Karr] is so smart that he's trying to make it seem like he's putting forth a false confession to hopefully get off with some insanity cry? He knows he committed the crime, but instead of the usual "deny, deny, deny" defense, he's openly admitting to it and trying to make it seem as though he's insanely disingenuous by giving information about the circumstances of the crime that he knows could not possibly be true.
When asked by the press if he was an innocent man, Karr answered "No". That much is believable, but as it relates to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, it's completely unbelievable. This is a sick man who is preying on the emotions of a country and especially the Ramsey family to satiate his perverted needs.
If [Karr's] confession is legitimate, I am so sorry Patsy didn't live to see this. I have a lot of doubt about this though. Evidence doesn't seem to match and everyone would love to see closure in the case but I think the suspect has many problems
I want to believe that John Mark Karr committed those horrible acts 10 years ago simply to give the Ramsey family some piece of mind that their daughter's killer has been caught and put behind bars. But it is hard to believe that Mr. Karr has waited 10 years to come forward. I can't believe he would just admit to it after all these years.
