Paragraph #11 --- the word "principal" is wrong --- twice. [Americans want universal health coverage, group says, June 7] The correct spelling is principle, of course: The group's stated values and principals were as important as the recommendations, Grob said. Those principals said all Americans should have a set of health coverage benefits guaranteed by law. Those benefits should be "portable and independent of health status, working status, age (and) income," the report said.
Linda, Menlo Park, California

CNN.com: Thanks Linda, we have fixed that.

There has been a lot of news about the 2 reporters that were killed in Baghdad. There was also a soldier killed during the car bomb that killed the 2 reporters. I have a friend who knew the soldier and it is VERY VERY important for her to see his name on your website. His name and rank is as follows: Captain James Alexander Funkhouser If you could please post his name, I would be EXTREMELY appreciative of it. I know that the family already knows about the death, so I see no need to delay posting it. It would mean a lot to my friend and a lot to me. [US & Coalition Casualties]
Aaron, Albuquerque, New Mexico

CNN.com: The captain's name has been posted. Thank you for your correspondence.

US Rep. Carolyn Maloney's name is spelled wrong [Homeland Security grants rile D.C., NYC, May 31] (CNN has it listed as "Carolyn Mahoney"). Thanks.
Meredith, New York, New York

CNN.com: Thanks for the catch, Meredith. The congresswoman's name has been corrected.

English to Metric Conversions - The conversion from inches to millimeters used in your article is incorrect. [Study finds rapid pre-Katrina sinking in New Orleans, May 31] In fact, 1-inch = 25.4 millimeters The factor you show in the article is the one for converting ounces to grams - That is, 1-ounce = 28.6 grams: "The study, released Wednesday by the journal Nature, found that some areas subsided more than an inch per year (28.6 millimeters) between 2002 and 2005. The average decrease was about a quarter inch (5.6 millimeters)."
Allen, Payson, Arizona

CNN.com: Thanks, Allen. The faulty conversions have been fixed.

Quick thoughts on QuickVote

Today's question should have been worded, "Do you think something bad will happen BECAUSE it is 6-6-06?" [QuickVote, June 6] Of course something bad will happen today. Something bad happens every day, but what would be special today is if it happened because of the date.
Maria, Wezembeek-Oppem, Belgium

Your question today needs to be revised. Something bad happens every day.
Melissa, Baltimore, Maryland

CNN.com: Maria, Melissa, you both make a good point. As best we can tell, plenty of bad things happened on 6/6/06, yet none happened because of the date itself. As for the more than 100,000 CNN.com users who voted on that QuickVote, only 7 percent said they thought something bad would happen on that date. The other 93 percent were not worried about the date.
