(CNN) -- An ailing 5-day-old girl, snatched from her mother by a woman who had posed as a hospital worker, has been found and is being evaluated at the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, police and hospital officials said.

"This little baby is in remarkably good shape," said Lt. Roy Bassett, a Lubbock Police Department spokesman.

After a tip called in to police, Priscilla Nicole Maldonado was found unattended, lying in a car seat in a carport at a Lubbock condominium complex. Temperatures at the time were in the low 100s.

Police have arrested 33-year-old Stephanie Lynn Anderson Jones on kidnapping charges. According to Bassett, Jones could face additional charges, including endangerment.

Police were led to Jones and her husband after a tip from a caller in Amarillo, Bassett said. A detective called and asked the husband if his wife had recently had a baby. After police were given conflicting answers, they became suspicious and went to the condominium complex, where they found the baby.

The couple were being questioned by police Monday night.

Learning of the baby's recovery, relieved family members arrived at the hospital Monday evening.

Jesse Madrid, the baby's uncle, called it "a moment of joy."

"I carried her and kissed her," he said. "We're happy."

Maldonado was diagnosed with jaundice soon after her birth Wednesday, and Jones -- wearing hospital scrubs -- stopped to check on her several times before the baby and her mother were discharged, Bassett said earlier.

The girl and her mother, Erica Ysasaga, were discharged Friday. On Sunday, Jones -- who identified herself as "Lisa Stewart" -- went to Ysasaga's house offering to check up on the girl.

Ysasaga told investigators she went for a walk with Jones, who told her she wanted to show the infant to relatives nearby. Jones took off with Ysasaga's baby when she became distracted by another child, the mother said.

Jones, in an effort to gain her confidence, had given the mother a false driver's license number and Social Security number, Bassett said. (Watch how the woman gained access to the baby -- 2:51)

Bassett said investigators have no indication that Jones worked at the hospital. The woman "apparently just donned scrubs to make it appear she was an employee," Bassett said.

"It appears that she established something of a relationship -- went in at the hospital, presented herself as a nurse, checked on the status of the baby and that kind of stuff," he said.

Bassett said he had "no clue" as to a possible motive for the abduction.

"Obviously, this was something that was planned over a period of days," Bassett said.
