Hunters think they killed deadly gatorAuthorities investigating whether alligator dismembered jogger
![]() Hunters capture a nine-and-a-half foot alligator they believe killed a Florida woman Tuesday. MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Authorities believe they have found and killed the alligator responsible for the death of a 28-year-old aspiring model this week after hunters found two human arms in the animal's stomach. The male alligator was 9 feet, 6 inches long, Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said Saturday. Tests have not confirmed that the remains are those of Yovy Suarez Jimenez, a college student from Davie, Florida, but authorities say they hope to make that determination by Monday. (Watch what her family says the victim told them shortly before her death -- 1:46) Suarez Jimenez's dismembered body was found Wednesday in a canal in Broward County, near the area where hunters found the alligator. She reportedly had gone for a jog Tuesday night on a path that runs alongside the canal, and didn't return home. "We strongly suspect this is the alligator," said Dani Moschella, a spokeswoman for the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. (Watch as the suspected killer is pulled onto shore -- :54) Dr. Joshua Perper, Broward County's medical examiner, said it appeared that an alligator attacked the woman while she was on land "and then pulled her body into a canal." Little water was found in her lungs, indicating that she didn't drown and was pulled into the water swiftly. Trappers set traps baited with hog lungs along a 500-yard stretch of canal beside a busy highway. Suarez Jimenez is the 18th person killed by alligators in Florida since 1948.
