(CNN) -- This is a sampling of comments received during the past week. In the military, the term "officer" used by itself indicates a commissioned officer (Lieutenant, Captain, Major, etc). In this case, the Soldier was a Sergeant (Sgt), not a commissioned officers. While Sergeants are Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), it is improper to refer to them as just plain "officers", they are always referred to as "non-commissioned officers" or "NCOs" if they are referred to by tier (enlisted, NCO, officer) instead of by rank. [Dog handler guilty of Abu Ghraib abuse, Tuesday, March 21] CNN.com: Thanks for the catch, John. We've changed that headline to fix the error. The article ['Idol' boots another; group now 10, Thursday, March 23]states "Seacrest said on Wednesday's show that viewers had cast 35 million online votes to determine the contestants' fates." Votes are not cast online, they are ONLY done through phone call and text message voting. "Listening to music that annoys parents at incredibly high volumes is a right of passage..." Even if they feel it's their "right" to make a lot of racket, it's still a "rite" of passage. [Poll: Teens not heeding headphone warning, Tuesday, March 14] CNN.com: Thanks Maria! You're rite, I mean right! Quick thoughts on QuickVoteYour poll regarding Natalie Holloway should really have a third option, namely: Who cares, this is not news. This would be my vote. I know it is not the fault of QuickVote, but I would like to comment on the response to whether it should be permitted to rebuild in flood prone areas of New Orleans. I was amazed at the percentages against. Then does it follow that we should not rebuild in tornado prone areas such as Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, south Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Indiana, and half the U.S.? What about hurricane prone areas such as the State of Florida and the Gulf coast? Should people not be allowed to re-build in wildfire prone areas and earthquake prone areas?
