Learning Activity: Middle East cease-fire
CNN STUDENT NEWS(CNN Student News) -- Students will learn about the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah from the perspectives of the key parties that have stakes in the resolution of the crisis. In class discussion, have students share what they know about the recent Israel-Hezbollah conflict and the international community's response to the crisis. Then, divide students into four groups, and assign each group one of the following key parties that have a stake in the resolution of the crisis: Direct groups to print and online sources to learn about where their assigned parties stand on the Israel-Hezbollah crisis and the U.N.-brokered cease-fire. After students have completed their research, have each group prepare a television news report explaining what a resolution would mean for its respective party. If possible, have students videotape their reports and show them to the class. Wrap up the activity by posing the following questions for class discussion:
