KATHMANDU, Nepal (CNN) -- Nepal's police have summoned the editor of the country's largest circulating newspaper Kantipur to appear at a local police post in the capital Kathmandu Thursday morning.

Kantipur Daily editor Narayan Wagle told CNN on Wednesday he'd been asked to come to the post "for clarification on a story published in the newspaper today" but wasn't sure what the article in question was.

"I have no clue why I have been summoned," he said. "I will hopefully be able to explain to you better by this time tomorrow."

Press freedoms have been limited since King Gyanendra disbanded the government and took absolute powers on February 1, suspending fundamental rights indefinitely.

However, the press restrictions have been relatively relaxed in recent days.
