My biggest problem with flying is being served a little bag of three nuts on a 3.5 hour flight and then finding out that the airline is disposing of the meal I refused to pay $8 for. S.Avrith, Montreal, Canada

I travel overseas 15-20 times a year, what bothers me on planes is uncomfortable chairs, terrible meals, dirty lavatories and arrogant flight attendants. Gabor Jokkel, Budapest, Hungary

Hotels need to deliver luggage to my room much faster, have a more flexible laundry/pressing service and a fast check-in and out. Airlines need to have a much faster check-in and a faster removal of the food tray. Khalid Qurashi, London, England

Singapore's Changi airport is great with its outdoor swimming pool and bar. I would like more airports to have this. Thai and Singapore airlines are the best in the world. Ulf Einarsson, Helsingborg, Sweden

The most terrible thing about business trips is the tight schedule and the lack of sufficient time to explore the city. I have barely enough time to go about cities sampling the local cuisine and buying souvenirs. It is a shame that companies do not think about adding a single day to an employee's trip for leisure purposes. I daresay this would greatly enhance the overall outlook and knowledge of a market, in addition to serving as an incentive for the employee. Ankit Thakur, New Delhi, India

I have stayed in hotels in 12 cities in the past month, eight of the hotels advertise their "wireless high speed internet in every room". I could only link in four hotels, because the steel door and concrete walls blocked the signal. Bill Radosevich, Minneapolis, Minnesota

If airlines try to justify raising prices or to cut staff or cut services -- i.e. charging for drinks, reducing food portions, no pillows, etc. -- then they need to show that airline executives are also taking pay cuts. Reading about executives being handed large bonuses while the workforce, or services, suffer upsets me no end. How am I to approve of or understand hikes in airfares, cuts in services, charges for services previously free if these executives receive significant salaries. I believe there should be no hikes in prices until we see these gluttons stop sucking the life out of the airlines for which they work. Barbara Garrett, Heidelberg, Germany

My biggest flight peeves are: Someone kicking the back of my seat; crying babies and over perfumed people. Witnessing the abuse of cabin personnel is right up there at the top as well. Eric Birt, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

The legroom in economy class becomes even more unbearable when the passenger seated in front of you leans back in his/her seat. Who decides the spacing on these planes? It is outrageous. Atthapong, Bangkok, Thailand

Why would any government seek to limit travel through biometrics for any reason other than security and counter-terrorism? They know better than anyone that it ultimately hurts travel and disrupts the economy. Robert Thompson, Brisbane, Australia

Whenever I return to Toronto my biggest fear is: "How far will I have to walk to the immigration gate?" The airport in Toronto has got to be the most inconvenient airport in the world for that reason alone. Could they not have planned it better? Once I traveled from Florida with my daughter and granddaughter and luggage. I was drained by the time we arrived at immigration. The walk was just horrendous. Lucy Richelmi, Toronto, Canada

In my opinion the airlines do take care of their passenger -- not that much for economy passengers -- but most airports do not. It really upsets me how they charge for everything be it using a telephone or using the toilet. Manfred Broghammer, Carmagnola, Turin, Italy
