Klinsmann ready to extend his stay
![]() A decision on Klinsmann's future will not be made until the World Cup MUNICH, Germany -- Juergen Klinsmann is ready to coach Germany's national football team beyond next year's World Cup, the governing body DFB announced on Wednesday. The DFB said that 41-year-old Klinsmann signalled his interest for a contract renewal at a meeting with DFB and other football officials. "We are happy about his statement. I have felt for weeks that he enjoys the job. It is good for us to know that we can plan with him on a long term basis," said DFB president Theo Zwanziger. Former national captain Klinsmann became coach last year in succession of Rudi Voeller on a contract until after the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany. Zwanziger had urged Klinsmann on several occasions to talk with the DFB about his future early on. But Zwanziger said the final decision on his future won't come until the World Cup -- a trophy Klinsmann won as a player in 1990. The news came a day after Klinsmann and Bundesliga managers ended a dispute over national team training and Klinsmann's shuttling between his Californian residence and Germany.
