GLASGOW, Scotland (Reuters) -- Scottish Premier League club Hearts completed the signing of Greek European championship winner Takis Fyssas from Portuguese side Benfica on Tuesday.

The club confirmed the signing of the 32-year-old left back on their website and said manager George Burley had also lured goalkeeper Steve Banks from Gillingham.

Burley said of the Fyssas capture: "We are really pleased to bring in someone of his pedigree."

The double signings bring the total to seven new recruits under Burley.

Fyssas was an integral part of the Greek team who won Euro 2004, beating Portugal 1-0 in the final.
