Tonight's Best TVWednesday, August 3By Alynda Wheat Entertainment Weekly
(Entertainment Weekly) -- Entertainment Weekly's daily guide to notable shows: 10-10:30PM SERIES PREMIERE: TRAILER FABULOUS (MTV) The network that's made over everything from noses ("I Want a Famous Face") to careers ("The Osbournes") gives us a new series in which a group of designers descend on a trailer park and remake one person's residence. Rapper Brooks Buford hosts. MTV promises the series ''puts the fab in prefabricated.'' We hope so. Otherwise, it's just the bile in mobile home. Best of the rest8-9PM SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (Fox, TV-PG) Yes, Paula, yes! This you can do. 8-9PM THRILL ZONE: THE TORNADO HUNTERS (National Geographic Channel, TV-G) The Twister Sisters prove their appeal goes way beyond right hand, red. (R) 8-9PM THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS MOMENTS IN LIVE TV, 2 (NBC, TV-14) Okay, NBC, but when you get back we want a four-page essay on "What I Did During My Summer Vacation." (R) 8-9PM BLOW OUT (Bravo) Get all the dirt on seasons 1 and 2 of hairdresser Jonathin Antin's reality series. His fiancee will reveal that she's pregnant! At least we know which kid will have the best highlights on the playground. 9-10PM BRAT CAMP (ABC, TV-14-L) The kids have their first "solo experiences" and learn that, in fact, it doesn't make you blind. 9-10PM VERONICA MARS (UPN, TV-PG-L) It had to be this one, with Veronica looking for the school mascot, that made Guttenberg sit up and take notice. (R) 9-10PM KATHY GRIFFIN IS ... NOT NICOLE KIDMAN (Bravo) The woman who shocked America with her joke about Dakota Fanning coming out of rehab is back for more in a one-hour stand-up special. If you like this, you may or may not enjoy her new reality series, My Life on the D-List (see below). 10-11PM SERIES DEBUT: KATHY GRIFFIN: MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST (Bravo, TV-14-DL) Kathy Griffin's :I'm a celebrity leper get me out of here" act is at its best when the comedian has Tourette's, spouting inappropriately bitchy zingers with seemingly no self-control. All of that spark is absent from her new reality series, which is surprisingly dull (Griffin, obviously a fan of the genre, does little to upend it) and dated (Margaret Cho was doing the "gays as best friends" bit much better more than a decade ago). In this first episode, Griffin makes fun of Madonna, tries to furnish her house on the cheap, and emcees a charity event after which she laments, "Bombing is a horrible feeling." For us all, sweetheart. -- Henry Goldblatt EW Grade: C- 10-11PM CSI: NY (CBS, TV-14-V) The contortionist and trapeze-artist lovers who were more Shakespeare than Kama Sutra. And folks wonder what's wrong with this show. (R)
